Sarah Jarosz has been a professional musician since she was 16, and as a comparative veteran of 22 has earned acclaim such as “One of acoustic music’s finest talents,” (New York Times) as well as the inevitable new Gillian Welch comparisons. Her last record, Build Me Up From Bones, confirmed all that and more. No longer a child prodigy, she's one of the most highly regarded and respected musicians around. Saturday 02nd August

4 Massive Reggae, Ska & 2 Tone Bands. Soul Pressure Sound System, plus special guest DJ Trevor Evans. Also a special slot with Roddy Byers. So what is The Warm Up & Ska Soup II ?Ska Soup an idea thought of in 2012 to showcase new up and coming bands on a stage in Coventry, the home of Ska/2 Tone in the UK. The event brought together many talented musicians. I thought they needed to be heard by a wider audience’ says Ska Soup founder Rich Lock. Like so many people today Rich himself had gone through a bad patch in his life and Ska music, his first love helped him back on track. He wanted to give something back and so Ska Soup was born. The charity Shelter was chosen as so many families are struggling today to make ends meet and losing their homes through no fault of their own. This also made a link to the old ‘Soup Kitchens’ as they were known of days gone by where homeless would be fed. Following the success of Ska Soup in 2013 which was a great success raising hundreds of pounds for Shelter, it was decided to start a non-profit promotions company called ‘Ska Sixty Nine Promotions’ which would organise and run future Ska Soup events. The18 members on the promotions team all giving their time for free and even gladly paying for their own tickets to attend these events are doing a fantastic job and the line up for The Warm Up on August 2nd and Ska Soup II on 6th Sept looks to be cracking. So please come and join us for what promises to be a great night at the ‘The Warm Up’,  The Tunnels, Bristol. You’re sure to have a ‘SOUPER’ time and help raise money for the chosen charity Shelter. The ‘Ska Sixty Nine Promotions’ team look forward to seeing you there. The BlakFlamez  Known as The Kings Of SKA, ‘The BlakFlamez’ are Bristol’s Premier SKA Band. Blending SKA, Soul and Reggae and drawing in over 20 years of experience this band will delight young and old alike with their upbeat tunes with an original touch. ‘The BlakFlamez’ were formed in 1973 and were one of the pioneers of the Bristol reggae/ska explosion on the Shock Waves label, during the 90's they won various music awards, wrote and performed soundtracks with some of the biggest stars of film and TV and still play those songs today along with new original material, people come and go but the BlakFlamez still burn bright. www.facebook.com/BlakFlamez TooT'n'SkameN Originally formed in December 1985 by Joe Masters & Steve Welsh. The band started gigging in local pubs & clubs in & around the Kent area. They soon became popular in the Kent Two Tone &ska scene & began playing to much larger audiences which included headline gigs at the Gravesend & Maidstone river festivals. Also the bands have performed at various colleges & universities throughout England to memorable gigs include performing with Ska legends Bad Manners &TheSelecter. www.facebook.com/tootnskamen  Stuck In 2nd Nottingham’s premier Reggae band. Music made purely to put a smile on your face, a dance in your step and your mind longing for summer days. Drums, guitar, fat-bass and dutty djembe alongside power harmonies with a cheeky glint in the eye’. If these guys don’t get you to your feet nothing will. www.facebook.com/stuckin2nd  Little Baby Cheeses An original skankrock™ band from Yorkshire. The brainchild of experienced songwriter Colin Miles (voice/melodica/monotron), ‘The Cheeses’ as they are affectionately known were born in 2006.  Following a particularly creative ‘purple patch’, Colin realised he needed to put together a band to bring his new songs to life. The sound that would later be dubbed skankrock™ was forged over 50+ gigs with help from Joe Herzberg (drums), Matt Ferguson (guitar/vocals), Offbeat rhythms, spacious bass, crunching chords, with Melodica blasts and Monotron bleeps, the cheeses’ inventive sound serves the infectious, original songwriting.  Along their way, little baby cheeses have shared the bill with, among others, New Town Kings, The Beat, The Toasters, The Hopper Ward, Becks and the Bullets, The Olive Branch, This is Seb Clarke, and Biscuit Head & The Biscuit Badgers. www.littlebabycheesesband.co.uk www.facebook.com/pages/Little-Baby-Cheeses/267821286624809 Bring Along A Tin Of Soup And Support Our Cause And Have A Souper Time. Saturday 23rd August

This sturdy blues-rock trio from Devon consists of Billy Bigguns (guitar), Dusty Thrills(bass), and Frank Weird-the man with no beard !(drums). The ZZ Tops play red-hot Texas boogie and blues, and no one does it better – or has done it more faithfully– than this “little ol’ band from Devon.”Quoting Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top –“They`re the closest i`ve seen”,praise indeed ! The trio’s enduring appeal owes much to their mastery of and feel for the ZZ Top form. From the beginning they took a hard-rocking power-trio approach to the blues, cultivating a new audience for the bands earlier work as well as mixing in the MTV classics from the Eighties with superior musicianship as well as attitude, style and some devilishly funny songs.

The world’s only official live tribute band dedicated to Marc Bolan & T.Rex T.REXTASY 2014  For many, Marc Bolan was the very first superstar of the 1970s. From 1970 to 1976 he had written 15 Top 20 hits, and between 1968 and 1974 had notched up 9 Top 20 albums. With iconic glam anthems and rock classics including songs such as 20th Century Boy, The Groover, Ride A White Swan, Metal Guru, Jeepster, Get It On, Hot Love, I Love To Boogie, and many others, Bolan’s unique style, even now, 41 years later, has the power to bridge the gap of generations turning all ages both young and old onto what Bolan termed ‘Cosmic Rock’. Marc Bolan, with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic characters of the original glam rock era.  Sadly, Marc’s life was cut short after a car accident and died in September 1977 – he was still only 29 years old.

A homage to the old weird America, the David Rawlings produced record gives a unique slant to classic material, both well known and obscure. An unmissable performance by a major artist. "He sounds like he's fallen through a portal from a century ago. Watson's banjo and guitar playing is expert but understated, and he and producer David Rawlings allow the songs – by turns bleak, bawdy and surreal – to cast their antique spell. A stark but engaging set." - Neil Spencer, The Guardian

The Delines Tickets £14adv

Tuesday 04th November

The Delines were formed when Richmond Fontaine's Willy Vlautin heard the heartbreakingly beautiful voice of Amy Boone and wrote an album, Colfax Avenue, especially for her. He called upon friends such as fellow Rfer Sean Oldham, The Decembrists' Jenny Conlee-Drizos and pedal steel legend Tucker Jackson to play on it and they in turn decided to put the show on the road. Their Bristol debut earlier this year sold out weeks before and attracted comments such as: “As ever Vlautin's songs were tightly drawn short stories of people trying to get by. There was sister looking for her younger war-damaged brother (Colfax Avenue), the 45-year old woman who can't run away from her dead-end life (State Line), the woman paying the price for having married a drunken drifter (He Told Her The City Was Killing Him), the girl desperate to escape from her mundane life for just one night (I Won't Slip Up). Sounds pretty downbeat? Well it would have been if the songs hadn't been so exceptionally well written and the musicianship quite so good.” 9/10. Keith Clark – Bristol Evening Post. As an award winning novelist (The Motel Life, The Free) Willie Vlautin is used to praise  - "He writes with sympathy and compassion for the downtrodden, many of whom are defined by an aching loneliness and a fear of love's shattering consequences.”  Wall Street Journal. With its background of bleak landscapes and hard luck losers Colfax Avenue is as good as anything he has done, and is sure to be considered to be one of the albums of the year
