Sunday 11th October

A human thermonuclear device with more than a hint of demonic possession, Barrence Whitfield is the ultra hard hitting front man of one of the most frenetic, wild and generally insane bands in the history of the world. Combining the energy of classic Little Richard with the vocal style of Wilson Pickett and Solomon Burke, Barrence and partners produce soul garage punk in a way that no-one else has ever come close to. Raucous, manic, mesmerising, spellbindingly brilliant  and above all else utterly unforgettable “Whitfield and the Savages never let up, pummelling your heart and your eardrums with some of the rawest soul to come along since Pickett and Redding. It's a welcome assault, as soothing as it is savage,  and long overdue.” No Depression.

Monday 12th October

8 awards in 3 years, the only act to perform at all three mega-successful Country2Country festivals at London’s O2 Arena and the first act to sell out the Brooklyn Bowl (London), multi-award winning duo ‘Raintown’ are fast gaining the reputation as one of the hottest Country acts in Europe.   This October, with a full band, they will bring their signature take on modern Country to venues throughout the UK, touring in support of their highly anticipated new album, ‘Writing on the Wall.’   Raintown’s  live performances have been igniting stages and gaining positive reaction both internationally  and here in the UK. They recently wowed a capacity crowd at the ‘Brooklyn Bowl’ – for the second year running - with a stunning set during  the Country2Country festival, before performing, as Jo Whiley commented, ‘ a wonderful’ live acoustic session for BBC Radio 2 Country,’ hosted by Bob Harris, Jo Whiley and Baylen Leonard.   “They are another UK band who are on everybody’s lips - everyone’s talking about Raintown,” commented Baylen Leonard,  from BBC Radio 2 Country and Amazing Radio. Allan Watkiss of BBC Radio Sheffield said, “Raintown are just what the UK country scene needs.” In addition, Al Perkins from ‘Up Country’ magazine wrote, “They have only been together a short time....the Glasgow based duo have moved from being newcomers to one of Britain’s leading bands.”   Raintown are recently married couple, Paul Bain and Claire McArthur-Bain, who fuse their passion for Country Music with their eclectic musical influences.  The result is an ever increasing catalogue of original songs and music that easily stands up against their counterparts in Nashville. They are an impressive duo who continue the tradition of exciting new music to emerge from Glasgow and who are cementing their place as one of the UK’s leading ‘new breed’ of Country acts.   This is a duo that loves Country Music – has a great relationship with their audiences - and knows how to have a Country Rockin’ good time! They commented, “We are so excited to take this new music out on the road and give people an amazing night of original UK Country.”

Wednesday 21st October

Variously described as “ a sweet and clear voice with a killer instinct lurking beneath the shiny surface” and being “Emotionally raw and riveting” Eilen Jewell's intoxicating mix of country, soul, blues and jazz has earned her a place at Americana's top table. Frequently compared to Gillian Welch and Lucinda Williams, but owing more to classic sources such as Bessie Smith and Billie Hilliday, she's as hard to categorise as she is impossible to ignore. Very highly recommended. “Jewell embellishes the classic Nashville vocal approach with appealing measures of blues, pop, and jazz.” – New Yorker With special guest Miss Tess "Nashville meets Brooklyn...country chic." -- Village Voice "I don’t know of anyone else right now touring in the Americana scene that has such an eclectic, jazzy, old school and interesting vibe. There’s an authenticity present in Miss Tess’ music. It is not contrived, not too far a stretch for the skeptical imagination. She is real. And she is rare." -- No Depression.

Texan Sam Baker writes and sings songs that can alternately break your heart or brighten your day. Tender, vulnerable, wise, sometimes haunting but frequently hilariously funny, Sam has earned his reputation as one of the most captivating songwriters in America. Although quiet by nature, every word he says utters a truth that others would find difficult to express. An absolutely enchanting performer, Sam's shows are unforgettable events. “Austin's Sam Baker isn't the only grizzled outlier to make a wise, sly, and excellent set of country-folk this year, but he's the only one who wrote "Ditch," a song about a pipe-layer with a "crazy-ass wife and a baby on the way" which is hilarious, tragic, and by any worthwhile standards, one of the best country songs of the year.” Rolling Stone's 10 best country albums 2013. Special guest is fellow Texan singer-songwriter Carrie Elkin - "I have never seen a performer so in love with the act of singing. That's the gospel truth, and from what I've subsequently learned I'm not the only one to believe or state that. Onstage Elkin was simply a force of nature….” Maverick Magazine

The band members in previous groups have supported the likes of Bad Manners, Rancid, Stiff Little Fingers and Sham 69 to name but a few.In the short period of time that 2 Rude have been on the scene they have grown in stature. They have played a string of sell out shows and have left audiences breathless and shouting for more. The band have collborated with Hip Hop legends Goldie Lookin Chain, Benji Webb from ragga-metal band Skindred, Punk hero Ed Tudor Pole and will be playing support slots for 2 Tone stars The Selecter. The live show has to be seen to be appreciated, the result of which being a band in a great demand with a whole string of bookings. 2 Rude are as authentic as a fist full of ska, and will not disappoint. No More Heroes Four Bristol layabouts decided to try and play guitars and drums whilst trying to sing over the noise. The result is one of Bristol most authentic and entertaining tributes to punk & new wave music and must be seen.

Chantel McGregor Imagine the tone of Robin Trower, the inspiration of Hendrix, the influence of Stevie Ray Vaughan, the energy of Bonamassa, the intensity of Walter Trout and the haunting vocal of Stevie Nicks all rolled into one........ then let me introduce Chantel McGregor, one of the most exciting rock and blues musicians that the UK has ever produced! At the age of eight Chantel became the youngest person in the country to pass a Rock school exam and at 12, she was jamming in her native Bradford and evolving into an incredible musician. Mojohand are a sophsticated young duo exploring the vast terrain of acoustic blues, soul, rock'n'roll and Americana. Combining the talents of two rising stars on the burgeoning Bristol scene, Mojohand features the stunning vocals of Miss Victoria Klewin and the stylish guitar of Joe Wilkins. Both successful musicians in their own right, mostly playing in bands, Mojohand gives them the chance to enjoy a more stripped-back approach

Sgt Peppers Only Dart Board Band £10adv

Thursday 17th December

Sgt. Pepper's Only Dart Board Band is back! After twenty years touring all over the world, Sgt. Pepper and his band hung up their Beatles wigs last year with every intention of retiring to "a cottage in the Isle of Wight". By public demand however, they have been persuaded to squeeze into those silk Sgt. Pepper costumes for a special Christmas tour taking in venues across the UK.  Hailing from the West Country, many will remember their crowd pulling performances at Ashton Court Festivals and Glastonbury, as well as packing out music venues around the region. Further afield, they have played at The Cavern and the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool; West End clubs in London; top festivals in Belgium, Germany, Ireland and Eastern Europe; and headlined a Beatles festival in Montgomery, Alabama. Though taking their name from The Beatles' greatest album, the band will cover all the great dancing and singalong hits in this party-type event. Previously, live performances of the "Revolver"; "Abbey Road" and "Sgt.Pepper" albums have brought the band huge acclaim for their musical prowess, as well as their brilliant onstage Beatle banter. This was evident  on TV stations all over the world in 2009, when they were chosen by the Beatles Fan Club to re-stage the famous "Abbey Road" photo on the 40th anniversary celebrations. Sgt.Pepper's Only Dart Board Band is delighted to be adding The Tunnels to their extensive list of top music venues. It's a near to playing the Cavern as you could get! "A splendid time is guaranteed for all!"
