Tuesday 02nd June

“Grew up in Maine. Lives in Texas. Writes songs. Travels around. Tries to be good.” Just like his songs, it speaks volumes with a few well-chosen words but everyone knows that there's a lot more to Slaid Cleaves than that. His modesty disguises an incredible songwriting talent, which mixes joy and despair, love and loss in equal measures. Songs such as Broke Down and Breakfast in Hell have become modern American classics and his intense, emotionally charged and frequently funny live shows are legendary. Slaid Cleaves is one of the great contemporary American singer songwriters, and it's a pleasure to be able to welcome him back.

Thursday 04th June

The term "Americana" is used to describe a wide range of bands these days but I can't think of a band that it fits better than The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band. The Rev. J. Peyton, his wife Breezy and drummer Ben Bussell are a living breathing embodiment of the traditions and hard work ethic native to their Brown County, Indiana home. These three are the real deal. There are no hipster affectations, just real from the heart music, handmade in the Southern Indiana hills, and they are 100% genuine. Their new album Between The Ditches is a chronicle of this lifestyle. "Burn up some backroads, drive up to the storeThey just don't make 'em like this anymore"ore"

Tuesday 28th July

Angaleena Presley's background includes being a coal miner’s daughter, a native of Beauty, Kentucky, a direct descendent of the original feuding McCoys, a one-time single mother, a graduate of both the school of hard knocks and college and a former cashier at Wall-Mart. If that sounds like an entry in the book of Country clichés, it's also worth pointing out that she's a member of the platinum selling Pistol Annies, and that her solo debut record, American Middle Class, is setting the world ablaze with its fiercely uncompromising descriptions of life as it is rather than as it should be. Frequently referred to as the heiress to Dottie West or Loretta Lynne, the signs are that it won't be too long before she's regarded as their equal. Pure Country class.

Monday 26th October

Texan Sam Baker writes and sings songs that can alternately break your heart or brighten your day. Tender, vulnerable, wise, sometimes haunting but frequently hilariously funny, Sam has earned his reputation as one of the most captivating songwriters in America. Although quiet by nature, every word he says utters a truth that others would find difficult to express. An absolutely enchanting performer, Sam's shows are unforgettable events. “Austin's Sam Baker isn't the only grizzled outlier to make a wise, sly, and excellent set of country-folk this year, but he's the only one who wrote "Ditch," a song about a pipe-layer with a "crazy-ass wife and a baby on the way" which is hilarious, tragic, and by any worthwhile standards, one of the best country songs of the year.” Rolling Stone's 10 best country albums 2013. Special guest is fellow Texan singer-songwriter Carrie Elkin - "I have never seen a performer so in love with the act of singing. That's the gospel truth, and from what I've subsequently learned I'm not the only one to believe or state that. Onstage Elkin was simply a force of nature….” Maverick Magazine

Geno originates from Evansville in Indiana, USA and first came to England in the 1960's as part of the US Air Force. His love of Blues and Soul music soon found him jamming with local bands in and around Ipswich and eventually led him to London where he caused a sensation singing with top R&B acts Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames and Zoot Money's Big Roll Band at the legendary Flamingo Club in Soho. The rest, as they say, is history.   Geno teamed up with some of London's hottest musicians and Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band very quickly became established as the most exciting live band in Britain, regularly topping the bill over World famous artistes, as nobody in their right mind wanted to go on stage after a Geno show!
