Marseille featuring Neil Buchanan of Art Attack - Tickets £8 / £6 NUS Advance STBF

Formed originally in Liverpool in 1976 as AC/DC by Andy Charters, Neil Buchanan and Keith Knowles. The band went on to change their name to Marseille after the Australian rockers, that we all grew to love, hit our shores!Marseille won the first ever Battle Of The Bands @ Wembley Arena and went on to secure a 3 album deal with Mountain Records, also then he home of Nazareth. Mountain put Marseille on tour with Nazareth, UFO, Judas Priest, Gillan and Whitesnake and then, whilst the band were touring the USA in 1980, Mountain Records folded and left the band stranded and with all their equipment seized. The band returned to the UK with no jobs and facing law suits as creditors scrambled to claw back anything they could from the failed label. By the time the legal issues had been sorted Marseille had missed the boat and great bands like Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Saxon had gone to the forefront of, what became known as, The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal.

A brief Marseille reunion, featuring original members Keith Knowles and Steve Dinwoodie, saw the release of another album, Touch The Night, in 1984 but the UK had now started a love affair with American Big Hair bands and once again Marseille had missed the boat! Andy Charters remained in the USA whilst Neil Buchanan famously went on to carve a succesful TV career as presenter of Art Attack & Finders Keepers.

Fast forward to 2010 and original guitarists Neil and Andy are joined by new vocalist Nige Roberts, bassist Lee Andrews and drummer Gareth Webb and Marseille are reborn. The new line up are now ready to unleash a new studio album of 10 brand new songs called UNFINISHED BUSINESS and they come to Bristol on the 6th October as part of their first full UK tour in 30 years.
